About

"Painting shapes in tone and colour with imagination and skill"

Hi, welcome to my online gallery and THANK YOU for taking an interest in my passion.

I am a professional (starving) artist living in the beautiful rural county of Norfolk, England. Famous for its river ways and flat landscape.
Many years ago I used to work with pen and ink, bird drawings mainly.
Then I discovered colour, somehow, and my world has never recovered!

Being solely self taught I started out with landscapes. I never really had a style as such...more a raw ability. I paint so many different things now, sometimes I'm off the wall and do strange things, like my triangular and hexagon canvas work!
Now I seem to have settled in what I am good at and have found my niche in this mad world. I go for quite detailed work. Especially my wildlife pieces. These have improved drastically but I still have so much to learn. I have supplied some of the xmas card designs for wildlife trusts, entered into the SWLA exhibition, exhibit nationally at various locations and can help art groups with teaching.

"I paint because I HAVE to. I have no choice and no say. I'm driven"

I have travelled frequently to Africa, helping teach children art and English. After some personal problems I found their lifestyle really helped me get things in perspective. Very much an eye opener and a life changer.
The people their captured my heart and I started to paint scenery from the Gambia. Mostly landscape work featuring people going about their daily existence.

I discovered ACEO's (miniature 3.1/2 x 2.1/2 inches). My first ACEO's were of African type sunsets, but I soon progressed to highly detailed wildlife.
To be a professional artist is very hard. I found that selling on Ebay has helped me no end. Not only to sell work very quickly, and to then eat, but also I have found ego boosts and friends as customers! Result :)

If you have read this far then you really are a glutton for punishment! OR you have a healthy interest. I can only ask that you buy my art and enjoy it as much as I did creating it.

Please feel free to email me about my art. I paint daily so there are new pieces all the time. I hope you have enjoyed your visit to my gallery, please come back soon :)
